Four Step Guide to Spiritual Meditation

Spirituality is a dwelling that we can get to through meditation. The highest level of this dwelling is with God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. However, getting to this place requires certain key attributes that must be fulfilled. It is a place where we come in peace and leave behind the world, sarcasm in thought, and all our accomplishments. In this house, there is no room for worldly wisdom. It is a place of mystery that desires our minds to be open and welcoming to receive what God has in store for us. If this is accomplished to the fullest then a feeling of peace descends upon us that transcends all the ill health, ill thoughts, misunderstandings or obstacles we may face. Our will is given to those who are far superior to us and we find a purpose in our existence. Below is a step by step guide to getting to this place.

  1. Anything is possible

The first step to spiritual meditation is in understanding that there are no limits for what can be achieved. God owns everything and is in everything. God does not come to us because we call his name. God is already in us and when we call his name we are opening our hearts to his eternal voice from within. It has been there before we were conceived and would continue to be there long after we are dead. This step in spiritual meditation requires patience in faith. If we know that all things are possible then we shall wait in faith for those things that we wish for without a doubt.

  1. The truth discussion

Once we are convinced from step one above that God is within us and we can hear his voice the next important thing is being honest with ourselves. This is when the voices in our heads take over. We must be honest when these discussions start. What we hide from or make excuses for in this place is what we shall carry with us for life. It is best to be honest to cleanse ourselves of the negative and heal from any mishaps that may have befallen us. Honesty with God is confessing our sins whether it is in thought or deed. Honesty with God is confessing our desires before him whether they are evil thoughts or otherwise. God is not a father that does not know our weaknesses. The fact is by being honest with him we are forgiving ourselves and accepting that we are imperfect before his eyes. There is no punishment for this but enlightenment. If we can do this wholeheartedly and truthfully then what follows is peace and understanding.

  1. Scripture

There is a limit to all that we can see. There is a limit to all that we can hear. There is a limit to all that we can taste or smell. This limit is in our understanding and not in the things themselves. They are out there for us but we are limited in our knowledge to comprehend them that is why this limit exists. There is no limit to the word of God and scripture. God will continue to open his word to us as long as we are willing to read it and understand it. Scripture is eternal, it is like the spirits we carry within us and must be written in our hearts and minds. Having these words in mind helps us bypass those limits in our sight, touch, smell, and hearing. Even the best songs created by us have a limited time of pleasure in meditation. However, there is no limit in God's word. It evolves within us and opens our senses to accept all that is around us.

  1. Enlightenment

This is the victory in spiritual meditation. It is the time we realize that we do not have to be sitting in a quiet room to hear the voice of God. It is the time we realize that it is not when we go on our knees to pray that God is beside us. It is the time we know that we can reach this place by the same token that we reach the regular places in our lives. Dwelling with God is anywhere and at anytime. There is no specific place, there is just the thought that he is there because we know his voice. With enlightenment, we walk with God, talk to God, live in God, and believe that he is in us.

These four steps in meditation cannot be determined by time or location. There is no right age to start or finish them. It is a lifelong journey of our existence and from any point that we start meditating in this way, we can reflect back to other moments in our lives and know that we had always been a part of it. In spiritual meditation time is endless and all doors, open or closed in our lives are connected. It is a meditation for eternity.

Acupuncture is a practice rooted in Traditional Chinese and Japanese Medicine that has recently gained popularity in the West. In this article, we'll focus on researching 5 acupuncture benefits that you probably didn't know about. However, it is important to remember that acupuncture is not a substitute for treatment. As you will see shortly, acupuncture serves more as an aid or adjunct to therapy, especially for serious illnesses. Additionally, before trying acupuncture, it's always best to check with your doctor first. Especially if you are currently sick or are undergoing any treatment.

Learn about Acupuncture benefits
1. It reduces pain
One of the main benefits of acupuncture is that it helps reduce pain. It can help reduce any type of pain, including menstrual pain, migraine pain, or pain that comes from poor blood circulation. Even if you suffer from fibromyalgia, backache, pain after a sprain or fracture, acupuncture can help you deal with it better. It is a procedure that involves placing very thin needles in specific places. The goal is to reduce pain. If you're one of those people who pale the sight of needles, don't worry. The acupuncture needles are so fine that they leave no marks on the body and are painless when placed.
2. It reduces stress and anxiety

In today's world, we live in, stress and anxiety are problems that many people face every day. So it's important to spend a few minutes a day meditating or doing other activities that will help ease your daily turmoil and eliminate stress and anxiety. Acupuncture can help us reduce stress and anxiety to a similar or even greater extent than massage. The needles used in acupuncture helps balance the body's energy and bring it back to a relaxed state. After a few sessions, you will notice that previously experienced stress and anxiety have been reduced significantly.
3. Acupuncture helps with insomnia
Another advantage of acupuncture is that it reduces insomnia. This is because insomnia is often linked to stress and anxiety. After an acupuncture session, stress and anxiety are reduced, which in turn helps to improve the quality of sleep. In addition, acupuncture helps to reduce depression and may even eliminate it completely. Therefore, it helps to combat mental or chemical imbalances caused by emotions that can prevent us from having a good night's sleep. Good sleep is essential both for a healthy lifestyle and for our happiness. If you don't sleep well, you can become irritable and any slightly negative situation can make you feel bad. Since acupuncture helps relieve negative feelings and stress, it can improve overall happiness by helping you rest at night.
4. Reduces allergic reactions
Many people suffer from skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and dermatitis. While these problems can be treated, the relief is only temporary. These problems inevitably reappear. Acupuncture can be a good complement to these treatments and may even increase their effectiveness. If you have eczema or other skin conditions, including acupuncture in the treatment recommended by your doctor can lead to more effective results. However, it's important that you always consult your doctor before deciding to add acupuncture to your treatment schedule.

5. Acupuncture helps in the treatment of cancer
The final benefit of acupuncture is that it can help treat cancer. It helps not only by reducing pain and relieving anxiety, but also because it can help reduce the side effects of cancer therapy. As you are aware of the fact that Chemotherapy often causes dizziness, vomiting, and a weakened immune system. Acupuncture helps regulate your immune system and reduces discomfort from chemotherapy. However, as with anything else, you should always consult your doctor first before adding acupuncture to ongoing treatment.
Acupuncture has been around for centuries. While modern medicine has developed significantly and is at a very high level, there are some older or ancient techniques that can still help us improve our overall well-being. Acupuncture is one of them.

Understanding the Difference Between Herbs and Spices

All herbs and spices, culinary or medicinal are made of natural properties that have compatibility with our bodies. Our bodies do not make everything that we need to sustain life and health, plants process these substances for us and make them more readily accessible to our body than any of the chemicals man-made today.

Medicinal plants include such things as minerals, vitamins, and trace elements, all these materials are necessary for recovery and health. Medicinal herbs also include medicinal substances such as essential oils, bitters, alkaloids, and tannins that have natural affinities for certain organs and systems in our bodies that have therapeutic actions to heal and sustain us.

Herbal remedies, by definition, are any plants that have a therapeutic action, which also includes vegetables and fruits and even some spices. One such example would be celery seeds which have a cleansing action upon the urinary tract system as well as being an aide to arthritis, while the essential oils of the peppermint herb help to relieve the pain of headaches and aids in the digestive process.

Peppermint leaves can also be used as an addition to salads, to flavor water, or make tea, while celery seeds are often used for cooking such food as a roast as well as an addition to salads and many other uses. Cinnamon is more often used as a spice but also has many medicinal properties as well.

From ancient times through the present day we have eaten plants and our bodies have responded through the millennia in a way that can not be matched with any synthetic drug in spite of all the advances of modern medicine.

Spices, like herbs, may be dried from seed, fruit, root, or bark. They are used in nutritionally insignificant quantities for flavor, color, food additives, and even as a preservative. Spices in ancient times as in today are also used in cosmetics and perfume, as well as medicine.

A few examples:

A compress is sometimes made up to help relieve a headache using a combination of herbs

Soak a washcloth in as hot water as you can stand, apply 2 drops of therapeutic essential oil of peppermint and 1 drop of therapeutic essential lavender, place the compress over the forehead, sit back and relax. This has worked well for a sinus-type headache.

To relieve anxiety and stress

Lavender, like many other herbs, has many good properties for relieving stress; try this recipe below.

Lavender tea

1 tsp of fresh lavender flowers (1/2 tsp of dried lavender flowers can be substituted)

1-2 tbsp of fresh mint leaves

1 cup of boiling water

Combine lavender flowers and mint leaves in a teapot, pour boiling water over the herbs and let steep for about 5 minutes. Strain liquid into a teacup and enjoy.

Pepper

Pepper has been used as a spice since prehistoric times and appears to have originated in India. Black pepper is produced from the unripe drupes of the pepper plant, while white pepper consists of the seed of the pepper plant. Many spices were used not only for seasoning but also for medicine. Black pepper was thought to aid with indigestion, joint pain, and liver problems. Today its use is more common for sore throats and coughs.

Understanding the difference between herbs and spices is just a matter of knowing your botanical plants and their properties. As spices like cinnamon, peppermint, and even celery seeds cross over into culinary and medicinal use, they all are plant-based, but their inherited constituents decide how they best are used and the quantities needed.

How To Get Low Cost Health Insurance

For those who don't know, health insurance is simply the coverage of medical claims of an individual, against medical costs. Like many others, you may not be able to afford an expensive insurance policy - but you can eliminate all the frills you don't need and get the low-cost health insurance you want and still be adequately covered. Health insurance, as with any kind of insurance today, whether individual, personal, business or family health insurance, is always a gamble. You're gambling that you'll take out more than you are paying in and your health insurance company is gambling they will pay out less.

You want to know what to look for in any type of good insurance. If you have always had a health insurance benefit where you've worked and especially if you were a state or federal employee and now find you have to buy your own, you may not be able to afford the level of coverage you used to have. Finding good low-cost health insurance today is easier than most people think.

To start, shopping for free health insurance quotes online is the easiest and best way to find low-cost health insurance coverage. If you have any permanent health problems, such as diabetes, or have had cancer at any time in your family history, your monthly cost could easily be more than your house and car payment combined, but there are many different good insurance plans available today in the US.

The cold hard facts are the older you get the more important your health insurance policy becomes; this isn't to say that you should not be concerned about your insurance when you're younger. In case your doctor decides that something is an absolute medical necessity and it's not covered under your current policy, the insurance company may exercise its discretion in paying for it, but don't hold your breath. Many reports they were eventually covered yet many more people get turned down.

One of the best ways to find low-cost insurance is to get free health insurance quotes online. You can generally get very fast quotes and you want to compare several companies, as they will all have different criteria. This will be the fastest way to find low-cost insurance.

Most importantly, you want a health insurance provider or company that has a good track record for paying without fighting you on every little detail. Your local agents may only be able to offer what they have currently available and not be able to offer you what's best for both your pocketbook and your health.

The death rate in any given year for someone without insurance is twenty-five percent higher than for someone with insurance so you want to make sure you get the best coverage you can get at the lowest cost as soon as possible. Heart-attack victims who don't have insurance are less likely to be able to get angioplasty, which is often the treatment of choice. People who have pneumonia who don't have insurance are less likely to receive initial or follow-up x-rays or necessary consultations.

In general, because people who are uninsured are sicker than the rest of us because they can't afford proper medical care, they can't get better jobs, and because they can't get better jobs they can't afford insurance, and because they can't afford insurance they get even sicker.

Although it does increase your risk, one way to lower your insurance costs is to set a higher deductible; if you're in good health you'll like to come out ahead, barring an unforeseen event such as an accident, etc. Keeping yourself in better health will help you with fewer health insurance claims. All the insurance companies have to be very competitive because it's so quick and easy to compare them with the other competing companies online.

Children without any insurance are less likely to receive proper medical attention for serious injuries, recurrent ear infections, or asthma for example and you want to avoid having to face a $100,000 open heart surgery without having any insurance.

So taking out insurance with higher deductibles and spending a little time online comparing at least five or more companies will make it more likely that you'll find the best low-cost insurance. There are many different health plans so make sure you get an understanding of all the low-cost health insurance policies that are available from each company. Cheap or low-cost insurance does mean a lower price and in some cases lower quality, but the price may be more important to some than the quality of the health plan. You don't want to pay for more than you need but you want to consider any possible future health events you might encounter too.

Finding good, hopefully cheap, low-cost insurance without giving up quality does not simply mean looking for the lowest premium but it means fully understanding all of the costs that will be involved in your policy. And finding the best health insurance is easy to do online, whether you're shopping for long-term or short-term health insurance from California, Texas, or Florida.

With the rise of medical insurance costs today, most people look for low-cost health insurance premiums that will ensure quality medical attention at the time of need, but at a price, they can simply afford. Make sure to keep in mind that with low-cost insurance options, you'll need to compromise somewhat on the variety of services covered. Proceed surely but carefully.

The Benefits of Herbs - Mint

There are many species of mint belonging to the Genus Mentha of the Lamiaceae family.

All mints have a pleasant aroma, though some may be considered overly pungent. Mint is a perennial inhabit and is typically cut back hard at the end of its growing season. Mints are known to enjoy wet growing seasons and moist soils. Despite this, they can do well in varied climatic conditions.

Mint can be propagated by seed, though not often. It is more likely done through the division of underground rhizomes. It can reach just a few Centimetres to over a metre in height depending on the species. Its potential to overtake other plants in a garden bed is a good reason to plant it on its own with a defined garden edging. Growing mint in large pots is also common, though it will need to be cut back and divided periodically.

The three most popular varieties of Mints are Spearmint, Peppermint and Apple mint. Historically Peppermint and Spearmint were the most common.

Mint grown in the garden is usually harvested as required. It can be harvested and frozen or dried for storage. This would likely happen if mint is being re-potted or cut back in clean-ups. Mint can also be purchased dry in bags or bottles and can be used in the same manner as fresh mint.

It is common to see mint grown as companion plants due to its ability to naturally repel insects. Mint Sprays can also be made to spray over foliage as a natural pesticide.

Along with the many benefits of using mint in cooking are its many health benefits.

  • Mint not only flavours food, but it can also aid in the digestion of it. Mint stimulates salivary glands and glands secreting enzymes that aid in digestion.
  • Mint can aid in relieving coughs and respiratory problems. It may also aid in relieving symptoms of Asthma and bronchitis. An excess of mint may also deliver an irritating effect or may worsen symptoms. Excess consumption of mint may lead to panic attacks as a result of respiratory distress.
  • Mint may assist in the relief of headaches and a feeling of nausea. The smell of mint oil may aid the symptoms of nausea on its own.
  • Mint oil is also recognised as an antiseptic and can be found in natural treatments for Acne and other skin conditions. Mint soothes and purifies damaged skin.
  • Mint is germicidal and can assist with eliminating bad breath. The result of this is cleaner, whiter teeth and a less pungent mouth odour.

Benefits Of Acupuncture Therapy
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medical treatment that has been in practice for over 2,000 years. Acupuncture therapy is now used by practitioners in mainstream medicine to complement courses of treatment for patients suffering from more than 40 different medical conditions. There are many benefits of acupuncture enjoyed by patients all over the world. Here, just two of those benefits will be discussed: pain relief and treatment of medical conditions.

Pain Relief

The most widespread use of acupuncture is in the treatment of pain. The World Health Organization and the National Institutes of Health in the U.S. list acupuncture as an effective treatment for chronic pain associated with a variety of different injuries and medical disorders, including:

Arthritis
Dental Pain
Facial pain
Headaches
Knee pain
Labor pains
Low back pain
Migraines
Neck pain
Postoperative pain
Sciatica
Sprains
Tennis elbow

Treatment of Medical Conditions

In addition to pain management, acupuncture has also been proven effective for the treatment of all of the following:

Allergies
Colic
Depression
Dysentery
Gastritis and gastrointestinal disorders
Hypertension
Hypotension
Morning sickness
Side effects, including nausea and vomiting, of radiation therapy and chemotherapy
Stroke rehabilitation

Several studies are currently underway to examine the potential of acupuncture therapy in the treatment of a wide range of other medical disorders and diseases. The list of medical conditions that can be treated with acupuncture therapy is therefore expected to grow exponentially in the coming decades.

How to Choose an Acupuncturist

If you have been thinking about getting acupuncture therapy for your medical condition, you need to make sure the acupuncturist you choose is licensed and certified. The following are four steps you should take if you are considering acupuncture therapy:

1. Get recommendations from your medical doctor or from friends and family members you trust.

2. Research the acupuncturist's training and credentials. Finding a naturopathic doctor who performs
acupuncture therapy is the best choice. At a minimum, the practitioner you choose should be licensed by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

3. Have a face-to-face interview with the acupuncturist. Ask questions about your treatment, including the benefits you can expect and how much it will cost.

4. Check with your insurance provider to find out if the treatment is covered under your insurance policy.

To learn more about acupuncture benefits, or to give acupuncture therapy a try, contact a licensed practitioner near you. A certified acupuncturist can evaluate your condition and come up with a therapy regimen that is best suited to treat your medical issues.

Steps to Wellness with Chiropractic Care

Are you struggling with back pain, neck pain, or other problems of the musculoskeletal system? Nothing seems to help you overcome your ache and soreness? Tired of visiting different doctors for the same reasons time and again?

In these situations, medicines (particularly painkillers) will usually provide short-term relief, bringing back the pain once the effect of the drug wears off. So every time you experience discomfort, you're compelled to pop a pill without considering its side effects. Even so, with time, the problem may worsen as the underlying problem remains untreated.

This doesn't mean there is no solution for your problems. Chiropractic care can help you recover completely, enabling you to enjoy a happy and fulfilling life!

Chiropractic care differs from traditional medicine with respect to the mode of treatment and diagnosis. The science of chiropractic care does not depend on drugs; instead, it relies on appropriate manipulation of the spinal column while addressing all major problems of the musculoskeletal system. There are three phases involved in chiropractic treatment.

Phase 1: Relief from Pain

The first and foremost priority for a chiropractor is to address the cause of pain. Through the use of specific massage therapies, chiropractors inspect the target site, sensing muscle tension and stress. Consequently, by applying appropriate pressure in the right direction, the stress is relieved, yielding instant relief from pain. In some cases, it may take about 3 to 6 sittings to eliminate the pain altogether. However, most patients experience an evident positive effect right from the first day.

Phase 2: Corrective Manipulations

Once the pain has been resolved, the next step is to ensure the pain will not reoccur. This is done by analyzing the body thoroughly for musculoskeletal weaknesses and reinforcing them through spinal manipulations and exercises. The idea is to correct the underlying problem, making sure all kinds of pains and discomforts are kept at bay. This might entail a couple of sessions depending on the severity of the problem and the case. In this phase, a protective shield is put in place to prevent problems in the future.

Phase 3: Promoting Overall Wellness

To conclude it well, the chiropractor will suggest certain tips and tricks to promote overall health and well-being. From recommending exercises to suggesting diet plans, this phase entails an overall analysis of your daily routine in order to identify possible positive changes that you can make. You'll need to visit your chiropractor every once in a while after you've been declared fit.

The steps of wellness with chiropractic care are slow and gradual. Nevertheless, they are known to yield guaranteed results. Most patients experience a holistic improvement in their health after going through the chiropractor's treatment routine.

Chiropractic care can help you overcome several other health problems as well, ranging from minor frequent illnesses to major health concerns. It eliminates your dependence on medicines, removing this artificial influence from your internal environment. There are greater benefits to be sought from professional chiropractic care.
